Definition & Purpose:-

​The Fluid Distribution Unit (FDU) serves as the primary floor-level manifold and intermediary routing hub in the reticulation network. While the FPS is mounted on the wall for user access, the FDU is positioned down at the foundation level.

It receives the chemical flow from the wall-mounted FPS (via pipes hidden in the wall chases) and safely splits that flow into multiple, balanced output lines that spread across the building's perimeter and sub-floor to feed the UDFs.

​Technical Specifications & Engineering Rules: 

​To maintain perfectly balanced fluid pressure across the entire building foundation, the FDU operates under these strict architectural rules:

  • Intermediate Routing & Splitting:- The FDU acts as a multi-port splitter. It takes the pressurized termiticide mixture from a single inlet valve on the FPS and distributes it simultaneously across multiple independent floor lines.
  • Line Capacity Limits: Every outlet port on the FDU connects to a continuous 6 mm OD / 4 mm ID pipe. To prevent pressure drops, each of these individual FDU outlet lines can support a hard maximum of 13 to 14 UDFs (spaced at 3-foot intervals).
  • ​System Baseline Scaling:- In KIEZEN INDIA’s standard configuration, 1 FDU is designed to manage a minimum grid of 139 to 142 UDFs. Because of the 14-UDF limit per line, a single FDU acts as a heavy-duty hub that actively manages approximately 10 separate branching lines across the floor layout.
  • ​Physical Installation:- As seen in standard site photos, the FDU is securely placed at the base of the wall chase. The 6mm/4mm pipe bundles are routed out of the FDU before being covered by the concrete floor pour, protecting the complex splitting mechanism from the harsh construction environment.
